Professor Dr. Winfried Petry gave an introductory presentation, after which the three directors of the FRM II guided the 13 visitors at the neutron source. The two members of the Munich city council, their colleagues in the party and their staff learned, that neutrons are important tools in material science and are used in the refining of the semi-conductor silicon. The members of the city council, Jutta Koller and Sabine Krieger, as well as the member of the board of directors of the Munich Green party, Sebastian Weisenburger, got a direct insight in the reactor pool, when visiting the reactor hall.
